Midnight musings

12:49a.m....a little better, I guess.

Am I actually writing blog entires two nights in a row? During summer project time?! Amazing!

I'm still up late finishing my newsletter and preparing for discipleship tomorrow with Josiah.

I am really enjoying my times of discipleship with Josiah and Jeff. I never really realized how much I love discipleship and pouring into another person's life. It's kind of encouraging because I've never thought of myself as a people person before! But maybe that has a lot to do with God changing my heart.

He has certainly been convicting me that I need to love people more. Letting that subtle, yet powerful, truth sink in, has transformed me in more ways than I recognize. It's so amazing how living out your beliefs in one certain area can change the whole course of how you view life and the way you do things.

It's kind of a 'duh' statement to say that what you believe is how you will live. But I guess that doesn't really ever quite sink in until you really see it in action.

Obviously, believing in Christ guides the course of my actions, but I never thought just changing one small thought in my mind could steer the entire ship in an entirely different direction.

It's sort of like my mental rudder has been steered a few degrees and now I love people more and I enjoy spending time with them. I'm still really picky about who I do that with and still have a LONG way to go, but it's encouraging to see God change my heart and tune my sense differently to be thinking others-centered.

Wow...revolutionary. Very cool.

Anyways, all that said, I'm having a great time with the boys :) They are blessing me as I bless them. It's a beautiful thing.

Praise God for this summer. I've probably said it before, but I will say it again: I love my team! They are such a breath of fresh air and such a blessing to me. Every time I think of them, I pray with joy, thanking God for each one of them being here at Keynote right now, in my life.

Tomorrow night is blue sky nine's coffeehouse along with the open mic night. The last one is usually packed with lots of different acts since the students realize it's the last one of the summer!

Time to hit the hay...

3:30 in the morning...

yep...

just finished practicing for both rehearsals I have tomorrow. Yes, you read that right. I have TWO rehearsals tomorrow.

Young Isaac is continuing with full day rehearsals and blue sky nine will rehearse during lunch time together for the first time since April! It should be interesting! let's hope it turns out o.k.

In any case, this Friday, we'll be the featured band for the coffeehouse this week. Please pray for us! I'll be posting up Young Isaac's tour schedule soon too.

Check out our flyer!

Last full week

Happy July 4th!

I remembered as a kid lighting all sorts of fireworks on the 4th of July at the park with friends. We used everything from Roman candles to M80's. Let's just say...we were young :)

Tomorrow morning we start our last week of full day rehearsals. CRAZY!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE WE'RE ALREADY IN OUR LAST WEEK OF REHEARSALS!

We still have our band dress rehearsals the following week, but as far as full day rehearsals go, this week is it, and then we hit the road!

Man, do I NEED your prayers!

Please, please pray for me and pray for my team as we come into this new and final full week. Pray for God to continue to do significant life change in the lives of these students and that we, as staff, would continue to be strengthened in Christ's love to be able to pour our and minister to them. I want to love my team well and know I can't really be thinking of that when all I want to do is sleep some more. So please pray for me to get the proper rest I need.

This weekend was FANTASTIC in terms of playing "catch up" with just normal, everday life things I need to attend to.

I vacuumed my room (BIG deal considering I haven't done since I've moved in!), rearranged my furniture a bit, did like three loads of laundry (and folded all of them too!), and sorted through my mail and bills.

!!!!! I know! Complete shocker. I couldn't believe it either! Praise God for helping me to buckle down and fight off the temptation of just running off to play some more. I socialize too much at the expense of doing the things I really need to get done. Thanks God for helping me to keep boundaries with myself. That's been a huge praise in my life. Wow...very cool. Makes me feel good :)

SO!
Please continue praying for my team:

Brandon
Jeff
Lindsey
Laura
Josiah
Josh
Lindsay Cole (Team director)
Benton Cole (Team director)
Dan Bongard (Music director)
myself

Pray for team unity
Pray for the attitudes of our hearts and minds to be like that of Christ Jesus
Pray for protection over our bodies' health
Pray for our relationships with God to be strong
Pray for our tour schedule
Pray for our physical energy and stamina during this taxing week
Pray for healthy, grace-filled conflict resolution when they do arise (and they will!)

Pray for blue sky nine's coffeehouse this Friday night at 7p.m.! We haven't rehearsed our set in about a month and a half, so we need all the help we can get! We'll have a rehearsal Thursday night for about two hours, but that's about it! We're a bit rusty, so I'm just praying we can clear the cobwebs and be able to click together again like we didn't skip a beat. That would be GRRRRRREAT.
